Homemade Christmas

Christmas hasn't even been yet and already I'm getting ideas for next years gifts. I was watching a Christmas program this afternoon and it was about this lady learning how to make all these great Christmas ideas herself and giving them as presents. One thing was homemade soap and I think that was a fantastic idea. They were so cute and something I would love myself. I was also thinking of stuff like teacup candles, cupcakes and cute art. I am so jealous already of giving my girls and family presents like these. Hopefully everyone has gotten there Christmas shopping done this year, I know I haven't!

Oh and if your interested in making some soaps of your own here is a recipe which I think I'll use :)

Oh Chrismas tree...

I am not ashamed to say this, I absolutely love our Christmas tree! It's just so unique with our decorations. We have a Disney, Star Wars, Tim Burton and Toy Story themed Christmas tree. We have been getting these kind of decorations for as long as I can remember and when I move out and have a tree of my mine I'll miss this one. Sure its not big but hopefully we will be getting one soon, after we get the house renivated and such. In the mean time I am proud of my families tree and when I grow up and have kids of my own I will be giving them a tree like this.

P.S. If you could spare a moment and go vote for my christmas tree over here that would be quite lovely. At the moment its number 5, but its labelled 'M. Bouma Thankyou :)

Much Love Monday

Monday morning, which means its time for another 'Much Love Monday' post. Join in the fun on Monday's :)

Film photography - I am loving my photography course at the moment. Its made me want to get back into just shooting with film. I think this will happen for the new year.

Presents with bow's on top - This year I have the biggest present (yay! but not being the most important thing) and my mum decided rather then tir with with the cheap plastic ribbon she put a lovely red bow on it. It's oh so cute

Popular Penguin books - I just brought a couple the other day and they are awesome. Such a cool vintage style looking book their are. Might have to buy a couple more, since their are only $10 each. I also got a free bag which is for the 75th anniversary for Popular Penguin books and its adorable :)

Somewhere

I Just watched this trailer for the new movie coming out by the wonderful American director who did famous titles like Lost in Translation and Marie Antoinette, Sofia Coppola. She started off as a model/actress and worked her way into script writing and directing, leading her to be the first American woman (fourth American filmmaker) to win the Golden Lion, the top prize at the Venice Film Festival. She is quite an inspirational woman who I admire.
This new film Somewhere, semi-autobiographic, is about a Johnny Marco, played by Stephen Dorff plays, who is a Hollywood bad-boy stumbling through a life of excess at the Chateau Marmont when he receives an unexpected visit from his 11-year-old daughter, played by Elle Fanning. Their meeting challenges his lifestyle and forces him to make necessary changes.
I'm quite excited as it's meant to out in Australia Boxing. In the mean time, go and check out the website for film. There are some awesome behind the scenes photos as well as interviews and even an inspiration page.

Top 6 picks

I thought it was time for another but decided to just focus on music this time.

1. "Say You Don't Want It" - One Night Only
I only heard of this song because Emma Watson is in it, but it is now one of my favourite songs. Its just a feel good song with such a great beat will be loving it for quite awhile.

2. "Planets" - Short Stack
I use to hate Short Stack when they brouht their first album out. They seemed like punk teen wannabe's with crap music. But this new album they've brought out, especially this song has changed my mind.

3. "Sometimes (Hook N Sling Remix)" - Miami Horror
I have just started learning this routine by Tony Czar and its a catchy remix. Great to bust a move and all :)

4. "Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na)" - My Chemical Romance
Of course I am in love with MCR's entire new album but this song is just fantastic! loving the whole new look to MCR, yes Black Parade was just freakin' awesome but I don't know...

5. "Dog Days Are Over" - Florence And The Machine
Another song I've started learning a routine too, kind of stealing choreography and making up some of my own. I love how cute and indie it sounds, perfect for listening too whilst drinking tea and reading frankie.

6. "Favourite Things" - Big Brovaz
This is just awesome

One night only

Im not sure what tye of mood I am in at the moment. I had a fantastic night last night. Went to two parties, one with uni friends and the other my high school friends. I will sum up my night into a sentence. Booze, free pizza, christmas lights, hickeys, licking niples, constant card games, pretty dress, harrasing two guys to hook up, never have I ever, broken glass, pretzels, slushies and funny pictures. It was a great night, catching up with friends, everyone getting off their faces and just having fun times.
But you know how when you can be having the best time of your life and just quickly something so small that probably means nothing decides to change your mood for the rest of the evening and the next day. I don't know I just hate how little things like old forgotten feelings can still ruin from you from having a perfect night.

Let it snow

Although I love it being Summer for Christmas over here I really want to have another white Christmas. I've only had one whilst i was in France skiing with family but we didn't go full out or anything. Hopefully in a few years I will be in either Paris or London spending christmas with friends or by myself.

Pinhole

During my summer I am doing a photography course at my uni that focuses on black and white film. I haven't done darkroom photography for two years so thought it would be a good chance to pick it up again. We started this week and first looking at pinhole photography.
Pinhole photography is lensless photography in which a tiny hole replaces the lens. Light passes through the hole; an image is formed in the camera. You can construct pretty much out of everything from cereal boxes to seashells but basically a pinhole camera is a box, with a tiny hole at one end and film or photographic paper at the other.  Pinhole images tend to be softer and less sharp than pictures made with a lens. Exposures are long, ranging from half a second to several hours. Images are exposed on film or paper – negative or positive; black and white, or color.
Anyway I am having fun with pinhole photography so far. Made my box out of cardboard and took a few images last lesson. it's so different compared to just regular film photography. I will upload some photos here once i take some good ones :)
