1: The person you like and why you like them.

Ok! So challenge one, quite a daunting one to start off with but I will do it. Just for personal reasoning and the precuation that he might read this I won't use his name but a false one. So for now the guy I like his name is Jeff (I don't know anyone by the name Jeff so just clearing that up). But yea I do really like Jeff, a lot and I have for a quite a while now. Well in a way I guess, It's been a on and off again with liking him because he been going through a lot of stuff with other relationships. When I first started liking him he did know but was being a friend and not letting it get in the way of our friendship because we were pretty close at one stage.
But getting away from the question of why I like him. To be honest he is nothing like the guy that I would be attracted If I got to pick mr perfect. But maybe that is why I am so head over heels for him. He has such a great personality and is a great friend which is something that everyone looks for in a relationship. Another thing is that when we were really close at one stage of our friendship I got to see this really caring and emotional side of him. During this time he was dating someone and whenever they got into a fight or something it seemed like he would always come to me for comfort. He was able to let himself go in front me and I saw how great he was a person. He deserves so much more then the way he is treat by this one girl at the moment. And even though he isn't like a handsome sex god like Johnny Depp or Colin Firth he is so attractive in his own way that I find him irrestable. On New Years we shared this sweet New Years kiss. Yes he gave everyone else a kiss but when he kissed me It wasn't like the others. It was like time stood still just for us and I could feel that it could of gone further but I pulled away because he was drunk and I was a little bit myself.
I don't know when we first met we had a instant connection and everyone that knew us thought we liked eachother and could see us dating. Unfortunately that never got any further and he started dating someone else. But all the time while he was dating this girl I still had people saying 'he definately likes you'.
Wow! Sorry for the long post guys. This is currently a situation I'm in with this guy and I have to decide whether or not I want to try and get this close with him again in risk that he might not beover this other girl still.

Yesterday was Australia Day for us Australians and like every year Our group of friends gather around a BBQ, eskeys, a toddlers swimming pool, alcohol and a stereo to listen to Triple J's Hottest 100 of 2010. Basically people get to vote online for ther favourite songs of 2010 and on Australia Day at midday begins the countdown to number one. It's quite awesome hanging around with friend commenting on songs, whether their deserved their place or not. Some of my favorite songs got in but the top ten was pretty dissappoiting compared to last year. Here was the top 10:

1. Big Jet Plane - Angus and Julia Stone
2. Rock It - Little Red
3. Dance The Way I Feel - Ou Est Le Swimming Pool
4. Plans - Birds Of Tokyo
5. Fall At Your Feet - Boy and Bear
6. Teenage Crime - Adrian Lux
7. Fuck You - Cee Lo Green
8. Tokyo (Vampires & Wolves) - The Wombats
9. Magic Fountain - Art vs Science

10. Somebody To Love Me - Mark Ronson & The Business Intl.

The ones in bold I really like. I was a bit suprised of Angus and Julia Stone making it into number one. I don't mind the song but I didn't think It was number one material. I also expected Calvin Harris to make it into top ten atleast. I think 'Dance The Way I Feel' desevered first place especially after the year the group has gone through with the lead singer commiting suicide. Another band that should of atleast made a appearance anyway on the list was Amy Meredith.
So yea, tell me what you guys think of the top ten and be sure to check ot the rest of the list here.

Friendships

Another one of my goals this year was to be more open to my friends. Now this is a big thing for me as when I was younger, going through primary and the start of high school, I never had a group of friends that treated me good. I was bullied, left out, they tried to kick me out of the group numerous of times, and many other things. So this has affected how I interact with other people since then. But for the past four years I have been surrounded by people that do care about me as a person, especially my best friends Helen, Kyah and Kathrine.
I have changed so much already because of these people but there has always that little fraction that is scared to fully let myself out. Last night felt like a big step for me. I was just on the train home with Helen after seeing a movie and it was a little quite a first as we haven't been hanging out much over the past year but we started just talking about things that have been on our mind lately. Were both going through some rough patches at the moment and I think we both needed someone to tell this all too. Even though we got into some deep issues I was happy we got to be like that again after a long time.
Last night really turned me around on a lot of stuff. I am hoping that for myself I can be more open to my best friends and tell them everything that crosses my mind without being afraid of what could happen. I can already tell that this is going to make me feel a lot happier, especially with some of the things that are happening lately.
I hope whoever reads this feels the same way. Hopefully you too have a friend or friends that you trust everything with and make you smile. Thanks guys :)

The King's Speech

I saw this movie at the start of the year and have been meaning to write a post about it for ages. Such an excellent movie. If you haven't seen it yet then go right now and see it. The film stars Colin Firth as King George VI and Geoffrey Rush as speech therapist Lionel Logue, who helped George VI overcome a stammer. Colin Firth won a Golden Globe for 'Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama'.
I was amazed at everyone's performance in the movie. It has definitely taken a place in my top movies of all time. Plus I love watching Colin Firth, he is such a heart throb :)

Bec Sandridge

I went to see this band last night at the local pub and this girl was their opening act. She is absolutely amazing. She was so down to earth and cute. Lives locally and has just started her solo career. Bec has taken to the likes of folk melodies, blue and green riffs and muttered ramblings of soft words inspired by artistes of sorts Bon Iver, Feist and Laura Marling. She has a really cool style and a beautiful voice. Definately one of the best acts I have seen in a long time.
Be sure to check her out on facebook and her myspace.

Fisheye One

Slowly I've been building my collection of camera's and part of it I have a selection of lomo cameras. Yesterday my mum treated me by buying me this lomo fisheye camera off ebay. I'm heaps excited for it to arrive so I can start taking picture's with it.
You can buy them from the lomography website, ebay and other online stores. I do recommend buying them off ebay as they do come cheaper there. Also if anyone as one would like some handy tips if their are any.

Here's a few examples of the kinds of pictures it produces:

Seeing double

I thought I would finally share some of my class work from my photography summer class. I was playing around with double exposures and sandwiching negatives all morning. These are my results and I quite like them a lot. Will be looking at doing something like this for my major, but including people. I'm growing in love with film photography even more since this class. Will hopefully keep it up this time round. Has anyone else tried developing their own film? share your stories :)

How to cook...

One of the things that I have been really getting into lately is cooking. Even though I don't see it as a future career, I still like being able to cook top grade dishes. Seeing as my mum is more then happy for me to make dinner every now and again here is what I would like to make throughout the year :)

Bruschetta
Poached egg's
White chocolate scones
Roasted pumpkin salad
Banana bread
♥ Enchilada's
♥ Macaroons
Something involving fresh raspberries
♥ Chicken casserole
♥ Homemade pizza bases
♥ Smore's
♥ Sushi

That's all I can think of so far. If anyone else has any other great recipe ideas then hit me up with them.
