On Repeat

During my many long hours of painting I have been The Beatles constantly on repeat. Like everyone I am a huge fan of The Beatles and I wish I was growing up in the 60's to see them live. I don't know why I have been listening to them so much lately, besides the fact that they are amazing. Maybe it's just what they stand for or something. Also how lovely are these images from Tom Murray's photo shoot taken in 1968. They show so much of their personalities and it's amazing that Murray didn't share these images till 30 years later. To me, they are some of the best images taken of the Beatles during their career.
But anyway I wanted to see what was everyone's top 5 Beatles songs of all time. Most of mine are songs that were featured or made for the movie 'Yellow Submarine' as I grew up watching and loving this. Did anyone else watch this as a kid? Here are my top five Beatles song's, which weren't easy to pick.

1. Twist and Shout
2. Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
3. Yellow Submarine
4. Nowhere Man
5. Here Comes The Sun

What your top 5 Beatles songs?

My groovin weekend

Hello everyone!
Man I am so happy to be home but I had such a amazing weekend. I went to a music festival called Groovin The Moo! Saw a lot of great bands that I love like The Wombats, The Jezabels, Bliss n Eso, Art vs Science and Birds Of Tokyo which were all great. What a great way to spend the weekend, listening to music you love with your friends :) Also just like to say thanks to my loveky friend Kyah for doing a guest post here the other day. Be sure to check out her blog Noise On The Side.

Yesterday was Australia Day for us Australians and like every year Our group of friends gather around a BBQ, eskeys, a toddlers swimming pool, alcohol and a stereo to listen to Triple J's Hottest 100 of 2010. Basically people get to vote online for ther favourite songs of 2010 and on Australia Day at midday begins the countdown to number one. It's quite awesome hanging around with friend commenting on songs, whether their deserved their place or not. Some of my favorite songs got in but the top ten was pretty dissappoiting compared to last year. Here was the top 10:

1. Big Jet Plane - Angus and Julia Stone
2. Rock It - Little Red
3. Dance The Way I Feel - Ou Est Le Swimming Pool
4. Plans - Birds Of Tokyo
5. Fall At Your Feet - Boy and Bear
6. Teenage Crime - Adrian Lux
7. Fuck You - Cee Lo Green
8. Tokyo (Vampires & Wolves) - The Wombats
9. Magic Fountain - Art vs Science

10. Somebody To Love Me - Mark Ronson & The Business Intl.

The ones in bold I really like. I was a bit suprised of Angus and Julia Stone making it into number one. I don't mind the song but I didn't think It was number one material. I also expected Calvin Harris to make it into top ten atleast. I think 'Dance The Way I Feel' desevered first place especially after the year the group has gone through with the lead singer commiting suicide. Another band that should of atleast made a appearance anyway on the list was Amy Meredith.
So yea, tell me what you guys think of the top ten and be sure to check ot the rest of the list here.

Bec Sandridge

I went to see this band last night at the local pub and this girl was their opening act. She is absolutely amazing. She was so down to earth and cute. Lives locally and has just started her solo career. Bec has taken to the likes of folk melodies, blue and green riffs and muttered ramblings of soft words inspired by artistes of sorts Bon Iver, Feist and Laura Marling. She has a really cool style and a beautiful voice. Definately one of the best acts I have seen in a long time.
Be sure to check her out on facebook and her myspace.

Top 6 picks

I thought it was time for another but decided to just focus on music this time.

1. "Say You Don't Want It" - One Night Only
I only heard of this song because Emma Watson is in it, but it is now one of my favourite songs. Its just a feel good song with such a great beat will be loving it for quite awhile.

2. "Planets" - Short Stack
I use to hate Short Stack when they brouht their first album out. They seemed like punk teen wannabe's with crap music. But this new album they've brought out, especially this song has changed my mind.

3. "Sometimes (Hook N Sling Remix)" - Miami Horror
I have just started learning this routine by Tony Czar and its a catchy remix. Great to bust a move and all :)

4. "Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na)" - My Chemical Romance
Of course I am in love with MCR's entire new album but this song is just fantastic! loving the whole new look to MCR, yes Black Parade was just freakin' awesome but I don't know...

5. "Dog Days Are Over" - Florence And The Machine
Another song I've started learning a routine too, kind of stealing choreography and making up some of my own. I love how cute and indie it sounds, perfect for listening too whilst drinking tea and reading frankie.

6. "Favourite Things" - Big Brovaz
This is just awesome
