It's beginning to feel alot...

Like Spring!

Finally down here in Australia Spring has finally caught up to us and it starting to warm up. I'm looking forward to Spring and everything that comes with it. Lighter layers, bright colours, more sunshine hours, pretty flowers, bare legs, iced drinks and many adventures. Even though I love winter for it's cozy weather and amazing wardobe, I love this time of year!

I found these photo's the other day and they just make me so giddy with excitement and joy that I can't wait to gather up a bunch of flowers and sit them in my room. I love the sweet peas but roses will always be my all time favourite flowers. Does anyone else have a flower flower?

Happy Birthday!

Hey everything, sorry that I haven't been posting this past week as I have been so busy with finishing major works that are due the end of this week. But today I have been taking it a bit easy and just relaxing because I turned 20! It's a little bit scary, but I seem to be handling it well. Of course it helped when I got a couple gifts from my family which were amazing. I'll be sure to share them with you guys on the blog soon.

What I wanted to let you guys know is that I probably won't be posting again this week. Again I am heaps sorry guys. I feel heaps bad because I feel like I have been kind of neglecting my blog lately, which I don't want too because I love it and you guys. But don't worry, I will hopefully get back into the swing of things soon enough. In the mean time I hope everyone is doing well and you are happy :)

Happy Halloween

Now over here in Australia Halloween is not big holiday that we celebrate really, but this year I really I could be going to a Halloween party and dress up for it. Maybe its the inner child in me, but the idea of dressing up just sounds like the perfect thing to do right now. Instead however I'll be spending my Halloween watching some of my favourite Halloween related films tonight, which will still be a blast. These are a few movies that I'll be watching:

☠ A Nightmare Before Christmas
☠ Beetlejuice
☠ The Rocky Horror Picture Show
☠ Casper
☠ The Witches
☠ The Corpse Bride
☠ Hocus Pocus
☠ A Nightmare on Elm Street
☠ The Addams Family
☠ Scream

So Happy Halloween everybody and hope you have a fun holiday whatever your plans are!

Time Off

Hey everyone! I am really sorry that I haven't posted anything for about a week now but it's been a difficult time at the moment with uni and personal issues. So I just wanted to tell you guys that I won't be posting anything for the rest of this week and that I'll be back on Monday with a new post. Again I am sorry but in the meantime I hope everyone is well and happy. See you guys on Monday then!

The Harbour

Last Wednesday during my break at uni I went down to Wollongong Harbour to have lunch and to do some work for class. I spent about 3 hours just walking the harbour taking photos and drawing the rocks, it was so nice to just sit back and relax a little from everything that has been happening lately. So I just wanted to show you guys some of the photo's I took as Wollongong Harbour is such a beautiful place and if you ever come and visit Australia you should come here. I will also be sharing some of my drawings from this with you guys so I hope you look forward to seeing them :)

The other day I got in the email a bunch of goodies from Echoes of Yesterday that I had won in her giveaway. I won a stripy bow tie, a pretty blue headband, some cute flower hair clips and an original watercolour painting from Natasha herself. You can visit Natasha's blog Echoes of Yesterday to see more of her artworks and if you like the bow tie you can purchase it and more at her esty store.

Frankie & Smith

To every Frankie lover out there, I am more then sure that a lot of you were very excited about the first issue of Smith Journal to be out. Smith Journal is perfect for any guy (or girl) who is looking to be inspired by dreamers, thinkers, adventurers, philosophers and creatives. I myself picked up a copy on Monday along with the latest issue of Frankie to judge and see if it lived up to its expectation. Honestly, it is way better then I had imagined :)

I loved reading the articles about all the creative gents out there and hearing about what inspires them. My two favourite articles was one about the taxidermist, Ryan Hanley, and the other about old famous writers and their typewriters. To sum it up, the Smith Journal contains all in which I hope to find one day in a man. I definitely see Smith Journal becoming a big success and I can not wait for its next issue to be in my hands. If you would like to purchase your own copy online or find the closest stockist to you, then head to the Smith Journal website and do so. Trust me, you'll regret not buying this magazine if you don't.

Girl holding a paintbrush

Top Cotton On, Bowler hat Market HQ, Vintage skirt/brooch

I thought it was about time that I took some photos of me actually holding a paintbrush, since it's the name of my blog. Anyway I have been enjoying my week off from uni as it's given me some time to just relax and do lots of drawing. On Friday I have a fun day planned for myself where I'm going to be a Plein air artist for the day. For art newbies, Plein air artists are painters who paint on location in the open air. So it should be a fun and interesting day for me. I have a few spots in mind and I'll be sure to share my drawings/paintings and photos of the locations where I did them.

I just purchased this skirt on my last op shop adventure and I'm absolutely loving it. My obsession with pretty skirts is becoming a bit of a problem as I no longer have room in my closet for any more. Might be time for another clean out of old clothes that aren't need anymore. So sad yet good as then I can buy more :)

Unwind

Hey everyone! Man what a weekend I have had. I am just so glad to be home from Canberra and to just relax. The formal that I went and shot on Friday went really well and it was such a great experience. I was very happy with the end result of the photos and so was my friend who hired me for the job. Over the next few days I'll share some of my favorite photos from the event and some useful tips and lessons that I learned from it. I hope everyone had an amazing weekend as well and is happy to be back at work/school.

Just A Minute in... August

I saw the lovely Liss from Daydream Lily doing this meme called "Just a minute in..'. It's a monthly meme which was started up by August Street, who unfortunately left the blogging world. So I decided that I would play along and join in this fun monthly meme.

Making... I have in mind to make some cute tea cup candles to have in my bedroom. I have already picked up some cute tea cups from a thrift shop :)

Watching... I have been re-watching Bones as it has been ages since I last saw it and apparently so much has happen since.

Drinking... So much tea lately from my new teapot. I'm in desperate need to order some more loose leaf tea, which I have in mind to get some Chai next. Yum!

Listening... to Oh Land, a band a friend just introduce me too recently. Absolutely loving their music and definitely recommend anyone to check them out.

Waiting... for Doctor Who Series 6 to start back up this month on ABC1. It looks so amazing! And also for True blood season 4 to start of Austar, my friends have been watching it online and they say it's really good.

If you wish to play along the full details of the game can be find here

The Mustard Dress

(Veronika Maine dress, MARKET Bowler hat c/o Market HQ, Siren wedges)

So this is the part two from the outfit post I shared with you guys on Tuesday HERE. At this very moment I am leaning more towards this dress as I just felt so comfortable and easy wearing it. I do absolutely love this dress from my favourite clothing line, Veronika Maine, as that mustard colour is just amazing. Another great thing about this outfit is that I feel really arty in it and I also get to wear my bowler hat that I love to death. But I am still eager to see what you guys think I should wear on Friday. So be sure to leave a comment here or go to my Chictopia and vote on which one you like best.

On another note, I have spent the past couple of nights updating my About, Sponsorship Information and Submission pages with more details and some pretty pictures. It was such a good feeling when I finished it as I know I won't have to update them in for a while now :)
