Christian Ruhm

Hey lovelies! I'm sorry I haven't been here for the last couple of weeks as I have been overstocked with uni work lately. I'm sure we've all been there many a times so yea I hope I wasn't missed too much and in return I want to share with you a fantastic series of photographs from Belin based photographer, Christian Ruhm.

I have kind of fallen in love with his ongoing series titled 'Landmarks'. He started taking these multiple exposure photographs of famous landmarks around the world in late 2009. I really like these photographs because when I did some experiments a couple of years ago with multiple exposures it was really fun and I just really like the effect that it gives to an image. You can check out the rest of the series on his website and see if you can pick out all the famous buildings yourself.

Monday Inspiration

I wanted to share today just some amazing that have inspired me the past week from a recent photographer I have discovered. Sarah Ann Wright is a freelance photographer in the UK who takes such amazingly beautiful portraits. I seriously couldn't pick which one was my favourite out of these few photos, and that's what you hope for when you discover a new photographer or artist. Be sure to check out her website and her flickr account to see the rest of her work. In the meantime, I hope that these photos served as source inspiration to you guys today :)

Hello again everyone! I haven't even been back for a day and I am already posting on here twice. Even though I have been away from the blog I have still finding great sources of inspiration from photographers and artists. Recently I have discovered the LA photographer, Alexandra Bellissimo. She does these amazing conceptual surrealist collage works where she creates these half-human, half-nature people. Her works looks at the relationship between nature and the human body and how we feel towards it. I almost thought that they were paintings at first, but yeah aren't the ust simply beautiful. They are really create images that are beautifully shot with these great colour schemes and tones.

She has recently taken my interest as I am exploring a similar concept of people's relationship with nature. So she has been really interesting to look at as a source of inspiration for it. I'll be sure to share with you photo's of my works in progress hopefully soon. In the mean time be sure to check out Alexandra Bellissimo website and her blog as well.

Again I just wanted to say that I am really excited to be back to blogging and a huge thanks to everyone who has stuck around :)

Back from Market

I can't believe that I haven't shared these photo's with you guys yet. Well these were taken when I went to the Art & Design Market and couple of weekends ago. It was such a lovely day with the sun shinning and lots of people cramming in to wonder around and look at all the stalls. Unfortunately I didn't end up purchasing anything, but there were so many great things that I wish I could of gotten my hands on. I am already looking forward to the next market in November, which I'll probably purchase most of my Christmas gifts from.

I also just wanted to give a little shout out to Emma from Milk Thieves Art & Design who puts so much work into organising these markets. It is always such a great day out, so thank you Emma for all the hard work :)

The Harbour

Last Wednesday during my break at uni I went down to Wollongong Harbour to have lunch and to do some work for class. I spent about 3 hours just walking the harbour taking photos and drawing the rocks, it was so nice to just sit back and relax a little from everything that has been happening lately. So I just wanted to show you guys some of the photo's I took as Wollongong Harbour is such a beautiful place and if you ever come and visit Australia you should come here. I will also be sharing some of my drawings from this with you guys so I hope you look forward to seeing them :)

Flickr Fave Friday

I am so happy that after such a long and stressful week it is finally Friday, which just means three days of relaxation. At the moment I have finish all my assessments for now so I am able to get started on my major works for this semester. Already my creative juices are flowing and most of my days will now be filled with just painting and drawing.

I was also thinking of taking a break from Flickr Fave Friday and doing something new. I will share more next week when I do my first post on it. Anyway I hope everyone has an exciting weekend planned ahead and if so please share with me :)

Amanda

I have shared here before some pictures by Parker Fitzgerald so it's no surprise that I am doing another post on him. When I saw these images of Amanda Seyfried on Ilana's blog See Me Everywhere, I fell in love with them. I have become quite a fan of Amanda with some of the amazing movies she has been in lately, Red Riding Hood and Letters to Juliet, because she is quite an amazing woman. I am also a big fan of Parker's work so it's just the perfect combo. He did such a great job capturing her raw beauty in such a stunning location. It's nice to see something different then to your typical Hollywood style pictures of celebrities.

I just also just to say that I might be a bit slow over the next week on my posts as I have a tone of assessments that all like to be due in around the same time as each other. But I have some things I am excited to share with you guys and I also have some special news that I can't say right now :)

Everybody Smile!

(Photo's by me)

Here are some more photos that I took last Friday at the formal I shot. The girls in these are just a couple of some of the amazing people that I have met in Canberra, besides my two girls from back home. All these photo's in the photo booth were taken with these two big studio flashes that went off whenever I took a photo from my camera that was on a tripod. I had never work with flashes like this before so it was really great to have a go and to see the results, which are pretty good if you ask me. All these photos were heaps fun to take, more so in the big group shots because everyone got really into it and just had fun with it.
