Photographer: Annie Leibovitz

I'm sure a lot of you would of atleast seen these images once but weren't sure who they were done by. Well your looking at the work of  American Fashion/portait photographer, Annie Leibovitz. Beginning her career working with the magazine, Rolling Stone. In 1983, Leibovitz joined Vanity Fair and was made the magazine’s first contributing photographer. There she became known for her wildly lit, staged, and provocative portraits of celebrities. Since then Leibovitz has photographed celebrities ranging from Brad Pitt to Mikhail Baryshnikov. She’s shot Ellen DeGeneres, the George W. Bush cabinet, Michael Moore, Madeleine Albright, and Bill Clinton. She’s shot Scarlett Johannson and Keira Knightley nude, with Tom Ford in a suit; Nicole Kidman in ball gown and spotlights; and, recently, the world’s long-awaited first glimpse of Suri Cruise, along with parents Tom and Katie. Her portraits have appeared in Vogue, The New York Times Magazine, and The New Yorker, and in ad campaigns for American Express, the Gap, and the Milk Board.
The reason why I am posting about this amazing woman is because next week I will be going to see the exhibition 'Annie Leibovitz: A Photographer's Life 1990 - 2005' which brings together almost 200 iconic images of famous public figures together with personal photographs of her family and close friends.I've read some really great reviews about the exhibition that has been a hit in the US and Europe. The exhibiton is being held at the Museum of Contemporary (aka MCA)  in Sydney, Australia from 19 November 2010 - 27 March 2011. I was going to go up today but the weather is revolting at the moment so will be going next week. If anyone else is from Australia and lives near Sydney I definately recommend seeing this exhibiton as it is going to be one, if not the hottest thing to see this year. If anyone has already seen it please tell me about it.

The wonderful lady herself :)
