Happy Halloween

Now over here in Australia Halloween is not big holiday that we celebrate really, but this year I really I could be going to a Halloween party and dress up for it. Maybe its the inner child in me, but the idea of dressing up just sounds like the perfect thing to do right now. Instead however I'll be spending my Halloween watching some of my favourite Halloween related films tonight, which will still be a blast. These are a few movies that I'll be watching:

☠ A Nightmare Before Christmas
☠ Beetlejuice
☠ The Rocky Horror Picture Show
☠ Casper
☠ The Witches
☠ The Corpse Bride
☠ Hocus Pocus
☠ A Nightmare on Elm Street
☠ The Addams Family
☠ Scream

So Happy Halloween everybody and hope you have a fun holiday whatever your plans are!

Black & White

I am so happy that it is finally Friday! I have finish all my classes for this year and I am so close to being on holidays that it isn't even funny. So with that I am in a happy mood because I look forward to the holidays where I can see and hang with my friends pretty much every day. We are already thinking about ideas for taking a small trip together and doing something special for New Years this year.

On another note, I am loving this set of photos from Natalie Kucken who has become my latest flickr found love. They are so dreamy and kind of remind of old folk tales about fairies. I hope everyone has a amazing weekend ahead of them. For me it'll be catching up on sleep as I have spend nearly every night this past week staying up late and finishing off assignments and journal work for class. So happy Friday everybody!

Much Love Monday

Be sure to join in next week for Much Love Monday

Today is officially the first day I have worn a pair of shorts since the beginning of spring! Sorry If all I seem to talk about these days are my excitement for summer and all, but I am really excited for it. Now I am not the biggest beach person, which is ironic because I live so close to it, but the idea of going down an afternoon and taking a dip into the cold water just makes me smile. So I thought I would share some of the things I love most about spring and do a Much Love post :)

♥ homemade lemonade ♥ fresh watermelon ♥ cute swimsuits ♥ sun bathing ♥ bike riding ♥
♥ listening to the radio ♥ pretty flowers ♥ daisy chains ♥ fresh air ♥ pretty dresses ♥
♥ afternoon tea ♥ slushies ♥ sandles ♥ late nights with friends ♥ sleeping with the window open ♥

What are some of your favourite things about spring?

Pinterest Friday

It's been ages since I have done Pinterest Friday so I thought I better do another especially with all the inspirational ideas I have been getting for a special day in the future. Yes, I am no where near being married or having a boyfriend at the moment but it doesn't mean that I can't start having ideas for it already. Weird or not, I do have some idea what my perfect wedding will be like :)

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend ahead of them, as for me I'll be working on my final essay and journal work due in next week. So excited to be on holidays soon!

DOC

I have a deep respect and love for all types of street art and artists. I don't know why I love it so much, but whenever I am walking the streets and I see a really great piece of work on a side of a building I wish that I could do something that amazing. For the past week I have been doing a lot of research on street art and have been discovering a lot of talent for my major essay that is due in next week. So I thought I would share one of the street artists that I found and that is Danny O'Connor, aka DOC.

What I love about his works is that even though their on the street their is so much expression and meaning in them. Also another great thing about him is that you can purchase some of his art that he has done on canvas to hang in your own home.

The Perfect Man

Every now and again I will gain a serious fan-girl crush on some gorgeous male celeb and lately it has been 'Glee' star Darren Criss who has won me over. What I really adore about Darren is that he is so humble  and kind to everyone that he meets, he has such a passion for both music and acting, and plus he is also quite a handsome young man. Sorry guys for my very girly post, but I actually really do love this photo shoot that he did with GQ Magazine earlier this year. I mean how good does he look in a suite! My favourite outfit is the first one with the Plaid jacket as it is such a fun, bold and quirky piece of clothing. Also, the behind the scenes video is so adorable which is mostly just of him jamming on his guitar and singing some sweet tunes.

You can see the rest of the photo's from this shoot on GQ's website here.

Antony Micallef

'The degenerate'
Oil on linen, 140cm x 140cm
'Hiena'
Oil and charcoal on linen, 140cm x 180cm
'Siren'
Oil on linen, 140cm x 140cm

I feel bad that I haven't shared any artworks on here for ages as I see my blog as a place to share all kinds of art. So I thought what better way to make a comeback by showing you the work of a artist I have recently discovered, Antony Micallef. The English artist first appeared in the art world about ten years ago and since has created works that are a gleeful attack on consumerism. The best way that I can describe my feeling towards his work is from a quote he made about his work, "My work is like watching a Disney movie which slowly turns into violent pornography". They are a perfect example of how something can be gruesome yet so beautiful at the same time. You can visit Micallef's website to view more of his work and find out about his current exhibition at the Rathbone Place in London.

Spring Inspiration

All I can think about when I look at these photo's is 'spring, spring, spring!'. I can't believe my excitement for it like today was so lovely that I got to wear a pretty dress without stockings. I was very excited by this and hope that the weather continues being like this from now on. Anyway I hope everyone had a lovely weekend with friends and family. For me my highlight is still to come when I go to the movies tonight to see Crazy, Stupid Love with my girlfriends, which should be amazing :)

Back from Market

I can't believe that I haven't shared these photo's with you guys yet. Well these were taken when I went to the Art & Design Market and couple of weekends ago. It was such a lovely day with the sun shinning and lots of people cramming in to wonder around and look at all the stalls. Unfortunately I didn't end up purchasing anything, but there were so many great things that I wish I could of gotten my hands on. I am already looking forward to the next market in November, which I'll probably purchase most of my Christmas gifts from.

I also just wanted to give a little shout out to Emma from Milk Thieves Art & Design who puts so much work into organising these markets. It is always such a great day out, so thank you Emma for all the hard work :)

Gretchen Jones

I know for us people in Australia that summer is on it's way, but I had to show you this FW collection that I found last week from Gretchen Jones. I am in love with the first outfit and plan on achieving this look with a smaller budget. Even though it's technically Spring here in Australia it doesn't feel like it as I am still wearing winter clothes and layering up most days. Now I am a huge fan of Winter, but I am all ready for Summer, so please hurry up and get here already! Is anybody else feeling this way as well?
Be sure to check out the rest of the collection on Gretchen Jones' website.
